LUCENA CITY — Police arrested 11 suspects in anti-illegal drugs operations on Tuesday and Wednesday (Jan. 21 and 22) in Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas provinces.
The operations yielded more than P1.9 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) and four illegal firearms, the Region 4A police reported.

In Imus City also in Cavite, policemen nabbed “Ariel” in another sting operation in Barangay Malagasang 1-G at 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

In Batangas, police in Talisay town, armed with a search warrant, arrested “Esteban” after they found 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 inside his house in Barangay Aya.

In Laguna, drug enforcers in Famy town busted “Paul” in Barangay Tunhac at 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday.

The police also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspect in his illegal drug business.
At least five suspects – “Leo,” “Mark David,” “Kent,” “Burt” and “Ëricson” – were arrested by policemen in Pagsanjan town while in a pot session in Barangay Pinagsanjan at 2:20 a.m.
Before the arrest, the group allegedly sold a pack of shabu to a poseur buyer.
The suspects were found in alleged possession of 18 sachets of shabu worth P213,622.
During routine frisking, Leo was also found with an illegal caliber .38 gun with six bullets.
Police tagged William, Ivan, and Paul as among the persons included in the police drug watch list as HVIs or high-value individuals in the local drug trade.
HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.
The other arrested suspects are street pushers in their respective localities.
The DA intends to run the TRO as “a specialized and dedicated office” to comply with the legal and administrative requirements and enhance its capacity to address trade remedy matters.
In a commentary, Japanese investment bank Nomura said the Philippines and India are the least exposed to China growth—which can get a boost from Chinese authorities’ recent policy blitz—due to the two nations’ “weak trade and investment linkages” with Beijing.
All suspects were detained and are facing criminal charges.
